Major Upgrade to SpellChecker.net

I am pleased to announce a major update to our SpellChecker.net system. We have added several exciting new features and fixed some pesky bugs. Details on the new release are below.

We have experienced tremendous growth over the last several months. Since July 1, 2000 over 5,300 websites have added our SpellChecker.net system.

Here is what is new:

1) My Account- The My Account tab is now active (http://www.spellchecker.net/account/index.htm) You can use it to update your profile, plus view usage information.

2) Custom Dictionary Support- You can now create a custom dictionary for all your users. If there are certain words frequently used at your site, they can now be ignored by our system. Log into My Acccount for details.

3) Auto SpellCheck support. This is a feature that I am very excited about. You can now add an Auto Spell Check checkbox to your pages, so whenever your users hit "send" or "post" their messages are automatically spell checked. If there are no errors, the messages are posted as is. If there are errors, then a pop up window notifies your users of the error and gives them the option of running the SpellChecker. Since it is a check box that can be turned off, it leaves control with the user.

You can see an example of how this works in a webmail application at http://www.spellchecker.net/demos/email.htm. To install Auto SpellCheck support on your site, click here: http://www.spellchecker.net/support/autocheckpage.htm

4) Mac IE 5.0 support- Our update now includes support for Mac IE 5.0 and Netscape 4.5. Click here to add the update: http://www.spellchecker.net/support/index.htm

Also, click here to view our list of supported browsers: http://www.spellchecker.net/support/browsers.htm

5) More words added to English Dictionary- We have spent considerable time and energy analyzing our logs and usage by some of our major customers. This resulted in over 6,000 new words being added to our standard English dictionary. In our tests, these new words make our system 55% more efficient, by not catching words that are actually correctly spelled.

6) Geographically diverse servers- We are in the process of adding SpellChecker servers in Europe, Asia and in different regions of the US. One of the features of our Auto Spell Check system is that whenever our main servers are responding slowly, your website will be redirected to another server that has faster access. Similarly, you will also be able to choose from a list of geographically diverse servers and choose which one will be your primary server. More details on how to do this will be posted on our site.

Thank you for your support. If you have any questions about our update, please address them to Tech@SpellChecker.net.

If you have other questions, please address them to me at Jeff@SpellChecker.net.
